Hurtta Trail Pack

Hurtta Measuring Guidelines:

1. The back length should be measured from the withers (not the collar) to the base of the tail, while the dog is standing in normal position.

2. The neckline measurement should be taken at the base of the neck, this being the widest point of the neck. The neckline of an overall can be larger than the circumference of the dog's neck, as it can be adjusted to fit a smaller neck.

3. The chest measurement should be taken at the widest point of the chest, from behind the front legs. To ensure sufficient freedom of movement, the chest of an overall should be 5-20 cm/2-8" wider than the dog's chest.

4. The front leg length should be measured from the bottom of the rib cage along the inner side of the leg to the wrist bone. The legs of an overall are of an appropriate length when they reach down to the dog's forearms.

Why we like it:

The three point contact straps provide extra support for helping your pup over obstacles, and stabilize the pack. The saddle bags are removable so you can use it as a pack or as a harness. We would not recommend the smaller pack for dogs under 35 pounds due to the saddlebag size. The larger pack saddlebags should be used with dogs at least 50 pounds and over. Remember, your dog should only carry 20% of their own weight so if you have a 50 pound pup their maximum load should be 10 pounds.

From the Manufacturer:

Adjustable belt, collar and chest strap ensure comfortable fit and prevent the backpack from shifting when your dog moves. The separate harness can be used for walks and as a safety harness when in the car. The handle at the back gives you more control over your dog in difficult places. Efficient 3M reflectors improve visibility in the dark.
